Head versus the Heart: Are you a thinker or a feeler?

ARE YOU A THINKER OR A FEELER?

TAKE OUR QUIZ TO FIND OUT!

We have all heard the old adage of opposites attract, and in many respects, it holds up as true. It can offer balance, perspective, and growth to a relationship. However, the dynamic between Thinkers and Feelers provides a great amount of depth but can also lead to some mishaps along the way.  These mishaps are common and are often due to how Thinkers and Feelers both process information.

Simply put, Feelers put emotion over logic and Thinkers vice versa. Let’s say you just were offered a promotion at work. If you are a Feeler, you may want to run to your partner and others close to you and share the excitement of your news.  It doesn’t matter how much the raise is, if your hours will change, will it impact how much you need to travel,  you just want to celebrate the excitement.

The Thinker, on the other hand, will greet your excitement and enthusiasm with a slew of questions.  They want to know the details and whether or not it is feasible or that you are getting a good deal. There is no celebrating until all of their questions are answered.

In order for this pair to flourish, each needs to take a step back. Feelers, help your Thinking partner stop and enjoy the moment. Thinkers, help ground your Feeler in their excitement. Perhaps it’s best to keep the announcement small instead of telling everyone until the situation is analyzed and a final decision is made.

When the head meets the heart, we find BALANCE.
